Czech teams victorious in AGON International Handball Tournament

AGON International Handball Tournament for 13-15 year old boys and girls was played in Vidzeme Olympic centre, Valmiera, Latvia on 11th-13th September. Teams from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland and Czech Republic participated in the event.

In the boys category Czech Republic won all 4 games and took the first place. Top scorer of the tournament was Mathias Rebane (Estonia) – 29 goals.

In the girls category other teams had no chance against Czechs who celebrated 4 convincing wins and received the first place trophy. Lithuania, Poland and Estonia won two games each and their positions were decided on goal difference. Teele Utsal (Estonia)  with 24 goals was the top scorer of girl’s tournament.

After the tournament award ceremony was held. Mayor of Valmiera City Council Jānis Baiks and the Secretary General at Latvian Handball Federation Anrijs Brencāns presented the trophies to the best three teams in each category.
